Products have often been formulated with ingredients that are harsh or ineffective for melanin-rich skin, leading to irritation, hyperpigmentation, and other adverse effects. The use of toxic ingredients, such as hydroquinone, which can cause severe skin damage, has been particularly problematic. These practices not only neglect the needs of darker-skinned individuals but also compromise their health and well-being.

The Birth of Alma Kimia

Alma Kimia is born out of a desire to address this neglect and provide skincare solutions that truly cater to the needs of melanin-rich skin. Our inaugural facial skincare range, launching later this year in the UK, consists of four carefully crafted products designed to tackle the most common concerns faced by those with melanin-rich skin:

- Oil-Based Serum: Formulated with nourishing ingredients to hydrate and protect the skin, addressing issues like dryness, premature aging and uneven tone.
- Gel-Based Serum: Specifically designed to target malnourished and unbalanced skin, using active ingredients that are both effective and gentle, rendering a radiant glow & a renewed confidence. 
- Moisturiser: A rich, hydrating moisturiser that locks in moisture and supports the skin's natural defences. Our moisturiser delivers 24h moisture - a claim we have worked hard to substantiate. 

All our products are entirely naturally formulated, ensuring they are not only effective but also safe for daily use.
